finishing touches on our falla









I would just like to point out that all of the above (unfinished) pictures were taken the day the falla was supposed to be "planted" in the street.  I don't know if it's their spanish mindset or if they're just really relaxed people, but they were so calm that day it didn't even seem like they had a deadline.  I went in to paint letters and some more of the ninot figures, and there seemed like there was still so much work to be done by that night.  My friends and I all agreed that we would have been freaking out during that week, and especially the last day, but they were totally on point with the no pasa nada attitude.  And it just goes to show that it works, look below for the final product!!



 As you can see, on the left behind our falla is a large white and blue one.  Each street intersection where there is a falla there is both a large falla and an infantil- this one directed at the children with a more dreamy, childlike feel.  Most of the larger ones I've seen to either be directed at the budget cuts the government has made, plastic surgery, corruption of the government, and so forth
