La Ofrendá (the offering)

La Ofrendá lasts for two days and is a procession of all of the falleros that bring a bouquet of flowers to a giant statue of the Virgin Mary and offer them to her.  However, as they do this, they say a prayer for a loved one, or beg for mercy and after this offering most of them are brought to tears.
Each falla is grouped together followed by a marching band that plays classic Valencian songs all day long behind them.  Some of the bands were even playing "ai si te pego" (a popular pop Portuguese song) and other fun ones.  They march across the city and all file down Calle de la Paz (Peace Street), around the Cathedral of Valencia and back into La Plaza de la Virgen where there is an enormous wooden statue of the Virgin.  All of the flowers that the falleros bring are placed strategically along this wooden structure to create a dress of flowers.

haha the strollers get me every time
