here's a great NYTimes article on Valencia: http://travel.nytimes.com/2011/01/23/travel/23hours-valencia.html

Today I met up with my new German friend, Daniel, by the pier to have a talk about traveling, life and politics for about 2 hours.  Funny enough- I met him on the bus ride to Madrid last weekend and we talked the entire 4 hour ride there.  He's a really nice guy and has traveled a great amount of the world, so his stories are really interesting.  It's nice sharing experiences of different cultures and countries with someone else.  He also speaks 4 languages so it's been interesting to talk about linguistics, grammatical differences and verb uses, etc among languages (I know this might sound really boring but I'm slightly fascinated with phonetics)

In about 3 hours I'll be hopping on a bus for 8 hours with 13 friends to spend the weekend in Granada!  We bought tickets to visit La Alhambra earlier today so we won't have to wait in a ridiculously long line on Saturday.  Granada was the capital of the last Muslim kingdom on the Iberian Peninsula, a city chosen by the Catholic Monarchs for the rest of his remains and temporary residence of the Emperor Carlos V.
Definitely looking forward to arriving, not so much about the night spent on the bus.  Ni modo, let the adventure begin
